Mambrino Baptist

Church Covenant

COVENANT STATEMENT: We believe that The Holy Spirit has led us and through this leadership, we have received Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. On the profession of our faith in God, we have been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In the presence of God and this congregation, one body united through the blood of Jesus Christ, we joyfully enter into a covenant relationship with one another as follows.

Through the power and direction of the Holy Spirit, we agree to live in Christian love with each other, to strive to advance the work of Christ through his church, to grow in the knowledge of God, to grow in holiness, and to comfort those in distress.

We agree to promote and sustain the church’s spiritual growth, worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. We agree to contribute to the ministries and expenses of this church both financially and personally.

We agree to maintain a family and private worship life, to educate our children in the scriptures, to work toward the salvation of our family members and acquaintances.

We agree to live a life characterized by wisdom and caution in this society, to be fair and just in our dealings with others, to be faithful in all our agreements and pledges, and to be an example to others in our behavior. We agree to refrain from gossip and anger.

We agree that we will not use or participate in the use of intoxicating or addictive substances to the point that these have an adverse effect on our body, our witness, our family, or the church.

We agree to willingly advance the kingdom of God. We agree to care for each in brotherly love, to pray for each other, to aid each other during sickness and distress, to improve and develop in Christian sympathy and courtesy in our speech and actions.

We agree not to take offense but to promote and endeavor to reach reconciliation without delay through the implementation of the rules and guidance Jesus Christ has given us.

We also agree that should we re-locate to another area, we will, as soon as possible and without delay, unite with another church, where we can continue to carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God.
